My Balcony is Damaged. Who is Responsible?
When it comes to damage on a balcony that you may have, that’s part of your unit, there is a possibility that you, as the unit owner, are responsible for maintaining it, but to be a hundred percent certain, you would need to go back to the governing documents to see if the unit owner is in fact the one responsible, or to what extent is the unit owner responsible for the balcony. Is it just the railing? Is it the structure of the balcony? The governing documents are going to provide more clarity on the extent of how much of the balcony you’re supposed to maintain.
