My Condo was Robbed. Whose Insurance is Responsible?

If your condo is broken into, and properties stolen. It could be a question of negligent security on behalf of the association. Let’s say you live in a condominium association where to get in the building you have to put in a code or a guard in the front of the building. And the person who broke into your unit was able to bypass those security measures that should have been in place. Then you can arguably say that the association may be responsible. At the same time, you may be responsible in the event that someone just came onto association property and stole things in your unit. So that’s why it’s important to have insurance as a unit owner, just in the event that the association is not the one that’s responsible and you’re responsible at least you have coverage for that situation.
