Who is Responsible for Shutters at My Condo?

When it comes to shutters at the condominium association property, it goes back to the governing documents if that’s something the association agrees to be responsible for. Now in terms of any units on a high floor, most likely the association is going to be doing the shutters because it’s probably a danger to have any unit owners try to put shutters on a 10 or 15 story building. And they probably wouldn’t want a bunch of random contractors doing that. They most likely will have an option available to the unit owner. So generally speaking, it’s probably going to be the association putting the shutters. But there could be a situation where if you’re on the first floor that they may make you responsible since it’s not as much of a risk for a first-floor owner to put their own shutters.
